Passed my class 1
Well just passed my class one had an early start out at 6:30 am had an hours practice then a 90 minute test first part is un-couple and couple a trailer second is a pre trip inspection and then a road test made a couple of daft mistakes forgot to indicate twice ....wally, half way round we saw some deer in the town which relaxed my nerves a little having the examiner talking to you unlike most in the UK which are generally mute which is un-nerving also when i did forget to signal he pointed out my mistake which was good.
Spoke to the lyndon at H&R and i should be out on my first mentor trip on tuesday so i have the weekend off to sort my life out and prepare to work rather then chillin between lessons as i have been, right till next time see u later.

In at the deep end
Thought i'd add a new post rather than add to the previous one.
I've been rather busy since landing we ( myself and another new driver called Steve) were met at the airport by a guy called Hans who drove us to Lethbridge and dropped us off at the hotel which is quite nice tryed to stay awake as long as possible only managed till 9 pm then up at 4 am :( only 4 hours till i needed to be downstairs to meet a taxi to take us to the driving school for a day in the classroom studying highway code and log book regs nothing too major but essential.
Friday (today) was in the truck for our first drive which wasn't as bad as i was expecting their highway code laws are a bit weird though e.g you can turn right on a solid red if it is clear. Their gearboxes are a pain in the backside to use after an hour or so i still hadn't managed to change gear smoothly it's a manual gearbox how hard can it be ........ really hard actually.
Strange thing i wasn't expecting to not really like the food here but so far the only thing i've liked is a burger king which isn't going to be the best diet option for a year even the frosties taste odd.
Got the air break course tomorrow which i'm not looking forward too as i think it'll be a lot of technical info to take in in a very short space of time but needs must, i'm sure it'll be ok though and i'll pass without any great problems, right i'm off need some sleep ready for tomorrow.
Oh yeah it's freezing here too :( about -12 C need to buy some warmer clothes tomorrow.

Finially here
Well i've finally made it to Canada :) Had a really busy weekend prior to leaving completing jobs on the house managed to fix 7 doors which i've been trying to get around to sorting since moving in in september moved the dryer into the kitchen too which didn't leave me too much time for washing and packing all my gear, because i was in a rush i never bothered to check my pockets before stuffing my laundry into the machine in the last load i had left a little pot of lip balm it was only i dryed my clothes did i notice the rather fruity cherry smell :( bugger threw the lot back in the wash unfortunatly half the load was ruined with greasy stains still no worrys still got 5 hours till i need to leave for the airport spent the next hour trying to juggle my luggage to my 20 kg weight limit u dont get to take much for 20 kg. After a little power nap sarah woke me with a coffee and we were off said goodbye to the dogs who i'll miss, Thanks Sarah for the lift to the airport i was a little more upset than i thought i'd be saying goodbye for a year, feel quite guilty leaving she is having a baby in May with andy her boyfriend which will make me an uncle for the first time and i won't see them all till jan 2011.

Current/New Job
I'm currently working for a marketing company called Event Marketing Solutions based in Ellesmere Port (www.eventms.com) which i really enjoy great guys to work with i'll post some pics of the contract i'm looking after at the moment later on. For years i've wanted to go to Canada but never thinking i could work there untill i stumbled across www.britishtruckersabroad.com and started to read through the posts about working over there and realised i had a skill they need truck driving i applied to a few companies one being H&R Transport in Lethbridge, Alberta who were holding interviews in newcastle in september. I went along for an interview was quite impressed a few weeks later i was offered a job and later a start date of March 2010.
I recieved an email from Eugenie at vrv asking if i was able to start in January which is better for me so now i'm off in January and can't wait.
Right going to try and figure out how to post pictures :)
